Any Which Way

.

“We can be grateful for

every agency or method

that tries to solve the

problem of alcoholism –

whether of medicine,

religion, education,

or research.”

.

As Bill Sees It,  p 147

.

.

There is a God today, and it is not you or me.

The final judge of a persons sobriety

will be a loving Higher Power

who knows if you are lying or

if you my be just stretching the truth a little bit.

We have not yet been cloned, we are unique individuals

and no matter how an alcoholic stops drinking,

God bless them, and may  they do no harm.

Recovery is great no matter which way you do it.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

Don’t Waste Your Time

.

“When you discover a prospect

for Alcoholics Anonymous,

find out all you can about him.

If he does not want to stop drinking,

don’t waste time trying

to persuade him.”

.

~  BB     p. 90

.

Recovery is for those who want it.

The twelfth step says that to keep your sobriety

you must share it with others, however,

the wisdom of those who have gone before us tells

us that we should not waste our time with a drunk

who does not want to stop drinking.

Today, help yourself, help only those

who want to seek sobriety themselves.

Recovery is helping others, but don’t waste your time.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

Promise #7

October Roses 029

.

“We will

lose interest

in selfish things

and

gain interest

in our fellows.”

.

BB p 84

.

Better know as the Ninth Step promises,

this promise begins even before we complete

the Twelfth Step, ‘to carry this message’.

At Step Four we begin to see that out disease

has caused us to harm others.

During Steps Eight and Nine, we make amends

and again see how we have affected others.

By reading the book and going to meetings we

begin to become grateful for the blessings and miracles

which have brought us to the fine fellowship

of A. A. , the place where we begin to understand

that all of our needs have been met,

that our wants should be for the benefit of others.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
