Thy Will, Not Mine

One of the most important lessons learned in AA,

I can start my day over again,

as many times and as often as needed.

Inventory taking isn’t just for a nightly review,

it can be done any time ones spirit is

out of kilter, when our intuitive feeling

indicates that all is not well with your world.

When in doubt, let go and let God.

Recovery is doing the will of a loving Higher Power.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

The ‘Great I’  had to humble himself and say

I would like it to be this way

but if God says differently

I will accept that His way is the only way.

And we soon learned that acceptance was not a bad thing

for often His way turned out to be better than any way

we could have ever imagined.

Today, accept life on God’s terms and in your prayers

make sure you add the qualification

‘If it be Thy will.’

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
