God’s Loving Discipline

.

.

.

“The last three Steps

of the program invoke

God’s loving discipline

upon my willful nature.”

.

Daily Reflections,  p. 317

It is suggested that the First Step is the only Step

that we can do perfectly and it should be done every day.

However, the action steps;

Ten, a daily inventory,

Eleven, prayer and meditation,

Twelve, part one, work with others,

part two, practice these principles in all of our affairs,

when worked daily they all greatly contribute to

the quality of one’s sobriety.

Learning to live by the guidance of God’s will for us

is the ultimate goal of the Twelve Steps

and working the last three Steps on a daily basis

allows us to grow spiritually and to accept the changes

that life presents to all.

Today, work a Step, celebrate sobriety.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

Prayer and Meditation

.

“Step Eleven suggests

prayer and meditation.

We shouldn’t be shy

on this matter of prayer.

Better men than we

are using it constantly.”

.

All prayers are answered …

in God’s time.

Be careful what you pray for …

you might just get it.

There are guidelines for prayers

from those who think they know it all,

however, prayers, like thoughts

are as uniquely individual as are your finger prints.

Today, have faith, there is no right way

or wrong way to pray, just keep practicing

and when you begin to see results

you will know what works for you.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

“11.Sought through prayer

our conscious contact with

praying only for knowledge

Life is a journey for the recovering alcoholic and

the spiritual path is life’s most important aspect.

Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic

and since we can never be cured of the disease

constant contact with a power that relieved our suffering

must be maintained.

The blessing is that the more we maintain our contact

with a loving Higher Power

the stronger our spiritual foundation grows

and the more we can find serenity and peace of mind.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

In order to live in the here and now

we must make peace with the past and

pray for the strength and courage to do the

will of our Higher Power tomorrow.

By reviewing Steps Ten and Eleven and

applying their suggestions to our daily routine

we will discover the promises coming to fruition

in our lives.

Today, work the steps into your daily routine

and learn to know serenity and peace of mind.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

God’s will: be kind, be loving,

be patient, be tolerant, be forgiving

and most importantly, be sober.

Let go and let God.

Today, pray, work the First Step, meditate

and have faith that the courage needed

to say yes, to say no, to do the next right thing

is already in your heart.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
