The Judge Of Your Worth,

.

“You alone are

the judge of your worth,

and your goal is

to discover infinite

worth in yourself,

no matter what

anyone else thinks.”

.

~ Deepak Chopra

.

It never is between you and them,

it is, has been and always will be

just between you and your Higher Power.

The Great Creator made you perfectly capable

of doing His will and the choice to do so is yours.

Today, pray, meditate;

seek the Spirit that is within you

and just do the next right thing,

love this world as being exactly

the way God wants it to be.

Recovery is to discover the infinite worth in yourself.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

Dream Big, Have Faith

.

“You block your dream

when you allow your fear

to grow bigger than

your faith.”

.

~ Mary Manin Morrissey

.

.

Fear is often a vivid imagination

that has no base in reality,

no foundation in fact.

Today, don’t know if you are coming or going,

pray to your Higher Power for guidance,

ask a friend for a suggestion, have faith that your fear

will not overcome your God given intuition.

Today, use all of the tools that your imagination

can create to lose the fear and have a life

that is happy, joyous and free.

Recovery is always having enough faith to dream.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

Me, You and God

003

.

Pray as though

everything

depended on God.

Work as though

everything

depended on you.”

.

~ Saint Augustine

.

God has designed this world to be a “WE” world,

me, you and God; with the sole purpose of having

us work together to make this Uni-verse

a better place for all.

Today, pray to God that you may have only

kind and loving thoughts and that all of your actions

will make this “WE” world happy, joyous and free.

Today, act as though the world depends on you.

Recovery is depending on God and self.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

The Daily Discipline

.

“The daily discipline

of prayer and meditation

will keep me in fit

spiritual condition,

able to face whatever

the day brings –

without the thought of a drink.”

.

Daily Reflections,  p. 317

.

What a wonderful way to begin the day,

instead of  waking up under that cloud of alcoholic smog

and worrying about when and where

I would get my next drink,

I now awaken to a routine that puts me

in closer contact to my Higher Power,

a daily discipline that brings sunshine into my life.

Today, be happy, joyous and free,

pray for guidance from the God of your understanding

and meditate, listen for His advice,

which is always to do the next right thing.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

The Practice Of Prayer

.

“As the practice

of prayer continues,

I will find I don’t

need words,

for God can, and does,

hear my thoughts

through silence.”

.

Daily Reflections, p.322

.

Every thought is a prayer.

Silence is God’s opportunity to talk.

One of the benefits of sobriety

and of working the Twelve Steps of A. A.

is a discipline that allows one to practice

those things that improve one’s life.

Today, know that there is no right way to pray

and it is only by practice that you may discover

a way of praying that will be just right for you.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

His Own Conclusion

.

“And be careful

not to brand him

as an alcoholic.

Let him draw

his own conclusion.”

.

Big Book,  p. 92

.

You can tell an alcoholic,

but you can’t tell him much.

No one wants to admit to being an alcoholic

and it may take some time

and a few hints or suggestions before

an individual may be willing to admit

that he is an alcoholic.

Don’t push , even though it may be apparent

that your new friend may have a problem,

tell him your story, plant the seed,

and pray.

Some will die so that others may live.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

Many Different

.

“The basic principles of the

A. A. program, it appears, hold

good for individuals with many

different lifestyles, just as

the program has brought recovery

to those of many different

nationalities.”

.

Big Book, p. xxii 3rd ed.
Forward to the Third Edition

.

A drunk is a drunk is a drunk.

Regardless of your age, sex, race, religion,

or any other qualifier you may wish to hide behind,

if you have a problem with alcohol the

Twelve Step program of Alcoholics Anonymous

can be of assistance in showing you a better way to live.

All that is required is

Honesty, Open-mindedness and Willingness

which is HOW the program works.

Today, no hiding, no excuses,

follow the suggestions and know that

a loving Higher Power wants only the best

for all souls.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
