Instincts

.

” He did not design man

to destroy himself

by alcohol,

but He did give man

instincts to help

him stay alive.”

12 & 12, p. 35

The disease of Alcoholism wants me to isolate,

be  alone, to push away anyone who loves me

and to kill myself.

This negative drive is opposite of normal human instincts

and I must be grateful to Alcoholics Anonymous

and their Big Book which has shown me

how sick I really am.

Today, be spiritual, work a program of recovery

that will prevent your disease from warping your instincts.

Recovery is understand one’s natural instincts.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

Anxiety Bombs

.

.

“Getting clear on

what you’re scared of

can instantly diffuse

ticking anxiety bombs

and release your

creative power.”

.

~ Danielle LaPorte

.

Have that sinking gut feeling,

that intuitive tremor that something is amiss.

Have faith, God is telling you to seek out the cause

of your fears, that you need to take a second look

at the people, places and things in your life,

those conditions that may be leading you toward

the emotional cliff of doom.

Today, follow your instincts, follow God’s will.

Recovery is to have clear thoughts.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

At The Expense Of Others

November Roses 010

.

While we may be

quite willing to

reveal the very worst,

we must be sure to

remember that we

cannot buy our own

peace of mind

at the expense of others.”

.

Twelve and Twelve,  p. 84

.

The analogy is the caterpillar ( the drunk),

begins to emerge from the cocoon ( the addiction)

and voila, there is a butterfly ( the sober soul).

Flying free both the butterfly and

the recovering alcoholic must be careful

not to soar above the pink cloud,

life for both of them requires that they follow

their instincts and do the will of God.

Today, share the love, share the blessings

and most importantly, do no harm.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
