The Inside Job

.

“Though we travel

the world over

to find the beautiful,

we must carry it with us

or we find it not.”

.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

.

It is not what you see, it is how you perceive.

The Great Creator has made this world beautiful,

look for the good, be kind and loving, have faith,

believing that God has already provide the beautiful.

Today, look inside of yourself,

God has also planted something beautiful in there,

a soul that can be happy, joyous and free.

Recovery is having a beautiful attitude.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

The Secret

.

“The secret of the true life

is to remain still

in the midst of activity

and vibrantly awake

while in meditation.

.

~ Dada Vaswani

.

Feeding into the chaos is a false life.

Placating the wishes and wants of others is a false life.

Placing great expectations on people

and God’s world is a false life.

The true life is to see both sides of the coin,

to understand the ebb and flow,

to know the yin and yang of the Great Creator.

Today, seek your balance.

Recovery is to know when to turn off and when to tune in.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

No One Is Inferior

.

“The surrender of life

is nothing

to sinking down into

acknowledgment

of inferiority.”

.

– John C. Calhoun

.

God made nothing that is inferior.

Today, you do not have to act superior;

just be kind, be loving, be patient and tolerant,

be forgiving and compassionate and be the person

your Higher Power wants you to be.

The Great Creator has placed every one of us

in this world to do His will, to make this planet

a better place for all.

Recovery is a healthy dose of self-esteem.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

We Have The Key

005

.

“So often time

it happens,

we all live

our life in chains,

and we never even know

we have the key.”

.

~ The Eagles

.

Fear, anger, hate, pride, jealousy;

some of the many links in the chain

that prevents us from living a life

that is happy, joyous and free.

Love, kindness, patience, tolerance, forgiveness,

we all possess the master keys that can open any heart.

Today, ask a friend, ask your Higher Power

to show you how to use the many keys that

the Great Creator has given unto us all.

Recovery is finding the key to serenity and peace of mind.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

Tiny Wonders

016

.

“We live our lives

surrounded by tiny wonders.

In any given moment,

there is a multitude of sounds,

sights, and sensations

to experience and savor.”

.

~ Lori Deschene

.

The drunk lives inside of his own head,

trying to capture the dizzying array of wild thoughts

that are forever flying around,

chasing feelings that he will never have again,

as he tends to forget about the wonderful world

the Great Creator has made for us.

Today, drunk or not, quiet the noisy mind,

get out of your head, help someone else

and take the time to smell the roses.

Recovery is enjoying the tiny wonders that surround us.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

Saved

007

.

“The Lord is close

to the brokenhearted

and saves those who

are crushed in spirit.”

.

~ Psalm 34:18

.

Saved is the soul that emerges from its darkest depths

to see the Light of the Spirit of the Uni-verse.

We are the better person for accepting the will

of the Great Creator no matter how sad or bad

we may feel about the events of life.

Today, help yourself by helping others to see

the Light of God’s unconditional love for all.

Life is a soul that treasures sobriety.

Blessed is the soul that reads and heeds

more than one Book.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

The Hard Way

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

.

“But what

we have related

is based upon

experience,

some of it painful.

We had to learn

these things

the hard way.”

.

BB p 121

.

The easier and softer way is to give up and die.

Recovery is to move on beyond the pain of the past

towards a life that strives to do the will

of a loving Great Creator:

be kind, be loving, be patient, be tolerant, be forgiving

and be the person your Higher Power wants you to be.

Today, remember the hard lessons and use them

as a guide to finding a life that is happy, joyous and free.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
