Laughter

.

.

.

the most wasted

of all days is

one without laughter.”

.

~ e. e. cummings

.

.

.

laughter is good when we laugh

with others, not at them.

laughter is good when we laugh

at ourselves.

laughter is good when we laugh

body, mind and soul.

today, look for the happiness,

know that it can be found in kindness and love

and in a friend with whom you can share a laugh.

Recovery is a good laugh.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

No Excuses

.

“If you really want

to do something,

you’ll find a way.

If you don’t,

you’ll find an excuse.”

.

~ Jim Rohn

.

Don’t lie, but be tactful.

Excuses are lies dressed up in fancy words.

Today, if you have a reason or even if you do not

have a reason to do or not do something,

be honest, do not make lame excuses.

Today, negotiate, accommodate, moderate,

compromise, just be kind and find an honest

mutual path to happy, joyous and free.

Recovery is never having to make an excuse.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

A Good Egg

.

.

“A true friend is

someone who thinks

that you are a good egg

even though he knows that

you are slightly cracked.”

.

~ Bernard Meltzer

.

.

Everyone has a little chink in their armor,

a friend is someone who will not expose

or take advantage of those weaknesses.

Today, be a friend, carry a bandage with you

and apply to a friend when necessary

to make sure their cracks do not grow any larger.

Recovery is caring for another

even if they are slightly cracked.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

Ask

.

.

“He who asks

is a fool

for five minutes,

but he

who does not ask

remains a fool forever.”

.

– Chinese Proverb

.

The real fool is the know-it-all

who has never been there, has not done that

and has an ego that is too large to admit,

“I do not know.”

Today, remember that the only stupid question

is the one not ask.

Today, relish the opportunity to learn, to grow,

to make this world a better place

because you learned how.

Recovery is asking all of the right questions.

Do Something

.

“Life is inherently risky.

There is only one big risk

you should avoid

at all costs,

and that is the risk of

doing nothing.”

.

.

~ Denis Waitley

.
Lead, follow or just get out of the way.

Today, start with an attitude of gratitude

and thank your Higher Power for giving you

one more day, one day at a time.

Today, get out of yourself,

do a random act of senseless kindness

without expectation of a personal reward

and try to make this world a better place for all.

Recovery is taking the risk to do something.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

No One Is Inferior

.

“The surrender of life

is nothing

to sinking down into

acknowledgment

of inferiority.”

.

– John C. Calhoun

.

God made nothing that is inferior.

Today, you do not have to act superior;

just be kind, be loving, be patient and tolerant,

be forgiving and compassionate and be the person

your Higher Power wants you to be.

The Great Creator has placed every one of us

in this world to do His will, to make this planet

a better place for all.

Recovery is a healthy dose of self-esteem.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

A Small Word

002

.

“Impossible is just

a small word that is

thrown around by small men

who find it easier to live

in a world they’ve been given,

than to explore the power

they have to change it.”

.

~ Muhammad Ali

.

Don’t like the small world that you live in,

let go and let God show you that within your

heart and soul is the power to change.

It is not likely that you will achieve

the top of the mountain with your first try

but have faith, know that the journey to the top

begins with one small exploratory step.

Recovery is to explore your power to change.

Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.
