It’s Not Them

“Where other people

were concerned,

we had to drop

the word  ‘blame’

from our speech

and thought.”

Twelve Steps and
Twelve Traditions, p. 47

The alcoholic is afraid to look into the mirror,
petrified to do any soul searching
because they know that they will not like what they see,
a soul that has lost its way.

Life is just so much easier
when you can blame someone else
for all of life’s inadequacies.
Sobriety is to be responsible
and life is surprisingly less complicated when one
does not distort their thinking with alcohol.
Be honest, be responsible, don’t drink, don’t think,
go to meetings, read the Big Book and learn to
enjoy a life that is happy, joyous and free.

Recovery is to drop the blame
Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
