Now that I stopped drinking, How do I live ? ? ?
Thanks to a Higher Power and the fellowship of A.A.
the tools needed to restore me to right thinking
have given me a new lease on life.
The basic tools begin with don’t think,
don’t drink and go to meetings.
Today the compulsion and obsession to drink has
been removed and my main interest is living,
one day at a time,
a life that is happy, joyous and free.
Recovery is learning to live without the drink.
Sobriety is a blessing from a Higher Power.

When some people are relating their problems, health issues, family issues, often people object citing “outside issues” and quite vacally. They don’t understand that “living sober” , and wrestling with unfortunate circumstances is part of a recovery message. It’s not merely not drinking. People with decades of sobriety use aspects of the program to navigate through non alcohol related circumstances. However, all our circumstances will be alcohol related for an alcoholic as we must remain sober..
