Backwards: Continued

Alcoholics Anonymous can not

turn the backward brain around,

what AA can do is to give one

the tools to learn a new way

of thinking.

God, as I understand Him, for me,

is the most important tool in my tool kit.

Without a strong spiritual foundation

the rest of my program would be a house

built of cards.

When I review the ninth step promises (BB p. 54)

the last promise, “that God is doing for us

what we could not do for ourselves”,

has come true for me.

This promise is proof that “I” will get drunk again

and that “We”, God and the fellowship of AA,

will keep me sober.
