The Acid Test

.

.

“Then comes the acid test:

can we stay sober,

keep in emotional balance,

and live to good purpose

under all conditions?”

.

Twelve and Twelve,  p. 88

.

.

At the beginning of the chapter on the Tenth Step

in the Twelve and Twelve we learn that the emphasis

will now switch from the earlier steps that humbled

us by making us accept that we were alcoholics

and that it is imperative that we clear the wreckage of the past

to a place where we must practice all of the spiritual principles

in our daily affairs.

Stopping the drink was the easy part,

staying stopped now becomes our primary reason

to continue following the suggestions given to us

by those who have been there and done that.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
