The Nourishing Ingredient

lanai 011

“Where humility

had formerly stood

for a forced feeding

on humble pie,

it now begins to mean

the nourishing ingredient

which can give us serenity”

Twelve and Twelve p 74

There is a God and it is not you or me.

To be humble is to put the will of God

before selfish and self-centered interests.

When the alcoholic begins to work the steps of A. A.

and begins to think of others,

those they have harmed,

those who can be helped,

they begin to realize that humility is saying

thank you Higher Power

for granting me the miracle of sobriety.

Today, know that you are God’s messenger,

carry the message that  ‘there is a better way’.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
