For whatever motivation or reason
there are those alcoholics who are blessed
with the will to live that is stronger than
the disease that wants to kill them.
For many alcoholics who want to live
the Twelve Step program of Alcoholics Anonymous
provides a plan for living that keeps the disease at bay.
One of the stronger motivators for recovery is when
the fellowship becomes keenly aware of and witnesses
the devastation caused by the cunning, baffling,
powerful, patient and insidious disease of alcoholism.
With new found feelings for others it becomes very
sad and heart wrenching when we learn that a friend
has lost their battle with the disease.
Today, pray for the sick and suffering
and celebrate your recovery with a friend.
Recovery is one day at a time.
Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
