Per the Twelve and Twelve, the writers note that

‘at the point of professionalism,

money and spirituality do not mix.’

The desire to help should never be motivated

by a monetary return.

We give back that which was freely given to us,

it is the only way it will work, one drunk

helping another drunk.

The Twelve and Twelve goes on to explain how

the service centers may hire special workers so that

the work of A.A. is available to all who seek help.

Books do not publish themselves for free.

Today, when in doubt, call New York,

a professional will be there to guide you.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
