We Believed

Savannah 029

“Imagine life without faith!

Were nothing left

but pure reason,

it wouldn’t be life.

But we believed in life –

of course we did.”

BB,  p. 54

Too smart for our own good.

Always trying to justify and rationalize our behaviors.

Always looking to blame someone else for our ill feelings.

The most difficult thing to comprehend,

we were alcoholic and that was the reason we drank.

Faith, to believe that a new idea, a new way of thinking,

could restore us to sane thinking was not rational.

Faith, trust in something other than your own thinking

and be willing to follow a few sugggestions from someone

who has been there and done that

and a good place to start is by working the steps of A.A.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
