To Be Happy

Pine Island Sunset 089

“In my search ‘to be happy,’

I changed jobs,

married and divorced,

took geographical cures,

and ran myself into debt –

financially, emotionally

and spiritually.

In A.A., I’m learning to grow up.”

Daily Reflections,  p. 125

It is no coincidence that many of us hear

our stories come out of the mouths

of so many other people when we attend

an A. A. meeting.

Some of us appear to be crazier than others,

some still have a few yets on their list,

but somewhere in every story

the drunk was chasing the feeling and

when life seemed no longer bearable

the miracle of recovery  happened.

Welcome to A.A., be willing to grow up,

be willing to wait until the miracle happens.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
