“Too much of my life
has been spent in dwelling
upon the faults of others.
This is a most subtle and
perverse form of self-satisfaction,
which permits us to remain
of our own defects.”

If I’m talking about your problems,
blaming you for all of my problems,
I do not have to look at what part I played
in all of the chaos and confusion.
Working the steps requires that we honestly
look at how alcohol motivated us to lie,
cheat and steal, to become the person
we did not want to acknowledge.
Today, be honest, let others be others,
and be the person your God made you to be.
Recovery is one day at a time.
Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
