The Finest Emotion

“When brimming with gratitude,

one’s heartbeat must surely

result in outgoing love,

the finest emotion

that we can eve know.”

As Bill Sees It, p. 37

I was very emotional when I came into

the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous;

I knew anger, hate, rage and fear.

A. A. has taught me that there are also

plenty of positive emotions,

happy, joyous and free.

Unconditional love was a little

difficult to swallow at first,

but, eventually, because those in the rooms

loved me unconditionally, me, the unlovable one,

from them I learned that love is just another positive emotion

that I should practice in all of my affairs.

Today, be emotional, be grateful for your sobriety,

love unconditionally.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
