Intellect vs. Emotion

St Pete Warhol 001

I could accept

my situation.

I could not.”

Bill’s Letter, 1954

The mind gnaws on the bone,

the ego chokes on it.

We put down the drink and we begin to have

feelings we never felt before because

we always medicated every feeling

with the depressant alcohol.

We sober up, we learn about the disease

but the ego still says, ‘why me.’

Today, stay close to your sponsor and

your friends in the fellowship, let them

relate to you how emotions are normal, natural

and definitely not a reason to pick up a drink.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
