Admit Defeat

“When first challenged

to admit defeat,

most of us revolted,

We had approached A.A.

expecting to be taught

Twelve and Twelve, p. 22
As Bill Sees It, p. 42

“Who among us wants to admit defeat ? ? ?,”

was at first answered with a resounding no

until we began to work the steps and realized that

we had lost the battle, alcohol was the victor.

The only way to survive was to admit defeat

and look for a better way to wage a different war.

The program of A. A. and a Higher Power

were the answer to a new way of living,

a method of winning the new war

that must can be carried on,

one day at  a time.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
