Straight From God

” The minute I figure
I have got a perfectly
clear pipeline to God,
I have become
egotistical enough
to get into real trouble.
Nobody can cause more
needless grief
than a power-driver
who thinks he has got it
straight from God.”

.

As Bill Sees It, p. 38
Letter, 1950

.

When I need direction,

whether I pray for it or not,

my Higher Power will talk to me ,

send me a message through other people,

or give me a lesson I never asked for.

Step Eleven reminds me that I must continually

seek to improve my conscious contact with

my Higher Power and humbly ask Him

to give me the strength and courage

to accept life on God’s terms.

Today, keep the ego in check, don’t drink

and let go and let God.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
