Some Degree of Humility

“The attainment of greater humility

is the foundation principle

of each of A.A.’s Twelve Steps.

For without some degree of humility,

no alcoholic can stay sober at all.”

.

There is a God and it is not me.

Humility does not mean

you have to lick the boots of anybody,

humility means that you understand

that a Higher Power is in control

and you are but His trusted servant.

Now if God ask you to clean the ashtrays,

put away the literature or fold away the chairs

be humble enough to do His will.

Humility is being willing to learn,

learn to listen and listen to learn

and remember you cannot hear

when your mouth is moving.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
