The Easier, Softer Way

“The easier, softer way

is to take these Steps

to freedom from our

fatal disease,

and to put our faith

in the Fellowship

and our Higher Power.”

.

Daily Reflections,  p 142

.

I worked at getting drunk and the rewards were

guilt, shame and misery.

I worked at getting sober and the rewards are

more than the 107 mentioned in the Big Book.

The work for achieving sobriety was difficult at first,

rigorous honesty, moral inventories, admitting defeat,

but all became easier and softer as time

(Things I Must Earn) passed.

Today, have faith, do the work,

it has its own rewards.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
