“Someone who knew

what he was talking about

once remarked that pain

was the touchstone of all

spiritual progress.

How heartily we can

agree with him….”

The emotional pain, the guilt and the shame

one must endure when the alcoholic honestly

reviews their lives, list their short comings and

makes a moral inventory of all of the wrongs

committed while under the influence

of the disease of alcoholism.

But, however, the program is not about living in the past,

it is about clearing the wreckage and then ,

and more importantly, beginning to live a life that

does the will of a loving Higher Power,

that does the next right thing.

Today, keep your side of the street clean

and enjoy the painless spiritual path.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
