A Disease

Lowes flowers 4-09 011

“Can you discard

the feeling that

you are dealing only

with habit,

with stubbornness,

or a weak will?”

BB p 140

The family, the employer , the community

and sometimes the drunk himself often forgets

or does not know that the alcoholic suffers

from a disease over which he has no control.

The disease becomes the ultimate motivator

as it abets and encourages the development of bad habits

and aids in the ruining of the self will of the affected

while building a wall of denial.

The disease wants the sick to isolate, be alone,

push away anyone who loves them and to kill themselves.

Today, treat the disease, pray.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
