More Beneficial

“It is harder to go

to an enemy than to a friend,

but we find it much more

beneficial to us.

We go to him in a helpful

and forgiving spirit,

confessing our former

ill feeling and expressing

our regret.”

BB p 77

The whole concept of recovery from alcoholism

is based on the concept of cleaning our side of the street,

to become humble enough to admit our faults and

to develop a positive attitude that looks forward

to a life that is happy, joyous and free.

It is not about making the other fellow feel better

or to like us, it is about making us feel better about ourselves.

Guilt, shame and remorse will get us drunk again,

making amends will free us from the negative feelings

and allow us to move on towards serenity and peace of mind.

Today, make your amends and if the enemy wants to remain

an enemy, that is their choice, be satisfied that

your job has been done.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
