The whole concept of recovery from alcoholism
is based on the concept of cleaning our side of the street,
to become humble enough to admit our faults and
to develop a positive attitude that looks forward
to a life that is happy, joyous and free.
It is not about making the other fellow feel better
or to like us, it is about making us feel better about ourselves.
Guilt, shame and remorse will get us drunk again,
making amends will free us from the negative feelings
and allow us to move on towards serenity and peace of mind.
Today, make your amends and if the enemy wants to remain
an enemy, that is their choice, be satisfied that
your job has been done.
Recovery is one day at a time.
Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
