Good and Useful Purpose

“So we think

that unless some

good and useful purpose

is to be served,

past occurrences

should not be discussed.”

BB p 125

My sponsor used the metaphor of

the scab that covers a wound

to describe the old emotional harms that

the alcoholic has inflicted upon self, family and friends.

If you keep picking and pulling the scab off

the wound will never heal.

To forgive does not mean that you must forget,

it means that you must move on and allow

old wars to rest in peace.

Today, let the healing begin, don’t open old wounds.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
