Chronic Alcoholic

The doctor said:

“You have the mind

of a chronic alcoholic.

I have never seen one

single case recover,

where that state of mind

existed to the extent

that it does in you.”

BB p 27

The Doctor then proceeds to tell the drunk that there are exceptions,

those souls who have a vital spiritual experience.

The disease of alcoholism is progressive and ultimately fatal

and for those at the beginning or at the end of their drinking career

the exception is the available to all if they are willing to accept

a Power greater than themselves.

Today, regardless of the diagnosis, have faith,

there is hope.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
