The Hard Way

“But what we have related

is based upon experience,

some of it painful.

We had to learn these things

the hard way.

BB p 121

The brain is on backwards,

life’s lessons which appear to be very simple for the

average, normal Joe, are stumbling blocks

for the alcoholic who is under the control of John Barleycorn.

The lessons of self control, moderation and healthy relationships

are nothing but whistling into the wind as far as the drunk is concerned.

Recovery is learning how to live without having to take a drink,

a life lesson that must be repeated daily if the alcoholic is to survive.

Today, to not repeat the pain, share it with another drunk.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
