Hang Together

“Would there be quarrels

over membership,

leadership and money?

Would there be strivings

for power and prestige? …

But out of this frightening and

at first disrupting experience

the conviction grew that A.A.’s

had to hang together or die separately.

We had to unify our Fellowship or pass off the scene.”

The AA symbol is the triangle.

The first leg is Recovery, for without the indviduals well being

the fellowship has no members.

The second leg is Service, one drunk helping another.

The base of the triangle, the third leg is Unity,

the fellowship must hang together

or  surly we will die separately.

Today, when anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help,

I want the hand of AA to be there

and for that I am responsible.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
