The Last Days

For most normal folks,

drinking means conviviality,

companionship and colorful

imagination. …

But not so with us

in those last days of

heavy drinking.”

BB p 151

The disease is progressive

and as the drunk gets deeper into his woes

the idea of being good company has usually been smashed.

For some it is instantaneous, some a week, some a month,

some a year or years, but when it gets to the point

where drinking is no longer any fun,

listen to your gut feelings,

listen to the message from your Higher Power,

and be willing to take the first step toward a life that is far better.

Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually,

put your entire life back together, become a member of the fellowship

of Alcoholics Anonymous and trudge the roadĀ of happy destiny.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
