The disease lies to the sufferer,

the alcoholic is usually the last to know

that there is a problem.

Honesty is not the drunks best policy.

The steps suggested in the Big Book of AA

are designed to help the alcoholic become more

honest and to help them recognize what the disease

has done to their lives.

Sharing one’s story with God and another human being

is just another step used to make the changes

needed to find the honest pathway to sobriety.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
