Take Stock

“We did exactly
the same thing
with our lives.
We took stock honestly.
we searched out the flaws
in our make-up
which caused our failure.”

BB p 64

The flaw that led to our failure

was that we suffered from alcoholism.

The disease wants us to be alone, isolate,

push away anyone who loves us and made us try to kill ourselves,

the slow agonizing death of alcohol poisoning.

Our failure was that alcohol ruled

and we were unable to control the drink.

When we stopped drinking and cleared the wreckage of the past,

we found that our new lives gave us the opportunity to live

without lying, cheating, stealing and doing many of the immoral things

that the alcohol distorted ego made us do.

Today, don’t beat yourself up, accept your alcoholism

and move on with a sober life that is happy, joyous and free.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
