More Promises

“Life will take on new meaning.

To watch people recover,

to see them help others,

to watch loneliness vanish,

to see a fellowship grow

up about you,

to have a host of friends –

this is an experience

you must not miss.”

BB p 89

What a promise,

my life now has a meaning,

and a much better meaning than the drunk

who had no reason, no purpose in his addicted life.

What a promise,

life was no longer just all about me,

I now had compassion and a willingness

to consider the feelings of others.

What a promise,

to abandon the isolated drunk

and become a welcomed member of the fellowship

that really cares about me.

Today, do not miss out on the promise to have a life

with a new meaning.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
