A Subtle Foe

“It is easy to let up on the

spiritual program of action

and rest on our laurels.

We are headed

for trouble if we do,

for alcohol is a subtle foe.”

BB p 85

Complacency begins with the word ” I “.

” I ”  was the drunk.

” WE ” ; the program of AA, the fellowship

and most importantly the grace of a loving Higher Power,

were and are,  responsible for our sobriety.

When the Big ” I ” forgets to be grateful to the ” WE ”

the stories are rarely pleasant.

Today, work a step, work with another alcoholic

and avoid the ego at all cost.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
