June 10th, 1935

“The spark that was to flare

into the first A.A. group

was struck at Akron, Ohio

in June 1935,

during a talk between

a New York stockbroker

and an Akron physician.”

Happy birthday to Alcoholics Anonymous.

For many the history of AA is an integral part of their recovery.

Reading about the trials and tribulations of trying to get a bunch of drunks

to agree on anything gives the reader a fascinating insight

into the thinking of an alcoholic.

Today, if your sobriety is on good spiritual ground,

take a moment to express a bit of gratitude

for those who have gone before us.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
