“Frequent contact

with newcomers

and with each other

is the bright spot

The drunk wants to isolate and be alone,

however, the recovering soul knows the need

for frequent contact with other sufferers.

The newcomer reminds us of where we came from,

what we used to be like.

what we need to do not to drink, just for today.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
