“At the very beginning,

the couple ought to

frankly face the fact

that each will have to

yield here and there

if the family is going

to play an effective part

in the new life.”

BB p 131

Yield is just another word for change.

For the drunk who is lucky enough

to still have a family when he decides to

join our way of life, the task of getting sober

must be a family affair.

Everything changes, but the change

between the drunk and the sober person

is often so very dramatic and traumatic

that to accept it will require much

unconditional love, tolerance, patience and forgiveness,

words that were seldom used in the diseased family.

Today, be willing to yield,

ask your Higher Power to lead you

down a humble path.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
