“If we were to live,
we had to be free of anger.
The grouch and
were not for us.
They may be the
of normal men,
but for alcoholics
these things are poison.”
BB p 66
As mother taught me, the only thing normal in this world
is the setting on the wash machine.
Anger, resentments, prejudice and bias are the defenses
the drunk uses to isolate, be alone,
push away anyone who loves him
and quietly pass into oblivion.
The disease is negative, insidious and left to run its course
it will lead to jails, institutions or death.
Today, quiet the noisy mind, mind your own business
and when all else fails, go to a meeting.
Recovery is one day at a time.
Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
ME and the Boss
And, if no one has told you yet today,
God loves you and so do we.
