Beyond the Point

“As we look back,

we feel we had

gone on drinking

many years

beyond the point

where we could quit

on our will power.”

BB p 34

There was a line drawn in the dirt and the dare was made,

” I dare you to cross the line and come over to my side”,

I took the dare and alcohol won.

I do not remember or can I ascertain when the line was crossed

but when I woke up, I quickly learned that I was definitely

long into the clutches of the disease.

The man took a drink,

The drink took a drink,

The drink took the man.”

Today, avoid the line, don’t pick up the first drink.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
