That’s Me

“Over and over,

he would say:

“That’s me.

That’s me.

I drink like that.”

BB p 157

Although I may not say it aloud, from the very first meeting

up until today’s meeting, as I hear everyone sharing their stories,

I will be thinking,’ That’s me, That’s me, I drank like that.’

I was told not to compare, it is not what or how much I drank,

we are to identify with the feelings, the hopelessness and despair,

the loneliness and frustration that the disease causes.

Today, guarantee your sobriety,

talk to another drunk and compare the journey.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
