Trivial Excuse

“But there was always

the curious mental phenomenon

that parallel with our

sound reasoning there inevitably

ran some insanely

trivial excuse

for taking the first drink.”

BB p 37

Denial and justification, I had a reason ( excuse )

for every drink that I ever had.

As the disease progressed, the reasons for

piking up the first drink became weaker

and the reason to have the second drink

rarely even warranted a second thought.

It took A.A., the book and the fellowship

to realize how insanely trivial my thinking

had become and that I needed to become willing

to change my reasoning.

Today, Think, Think, Think …

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.
