The Exception

“By every form of

self-deception and

they will try to prove

themselves exceptions

to the rule,

therefore nonalcoholic.”

BB p 31

The stigma of being called an alcoholic,

a person who cannot drink,

“what do you mean I can’t drink,

you buy and I’ll drink every one of you under the table.”

“By the way, I’m drinking scotch now,

the beer was filling me up and I was always bloated and …”

In the Big Book the list of ruses that the problem drinker

has used to control his drinking, to prove to himself that

there is no problem is extremely long.

Because of all of the excuses ( BB p 31) contains

one of the longest paragraphs in the entire book.

Today, forget the excuses, seek out the solutions.

Recovery is one day at a time.

Sobriety is a blessing from our Higher Power.

ME and the Boss

And, if no one has told you yet today,

God loves you and so do we.
